Imphal, July 30 2015:
Mao vendors who sell vegetables at Imphal have urged the State Government to bring a solution to the ongoing pro-ILPS movement at the earliest.
A vendor identified as Adathro Mao said that the Government must fulfil the people's demands as frequent bandhs and strikes would only create inconvenience to the public.
He said that after SAPO banned Mao people from entering into Nagaland, various civil society organisations and Government had arranged vending space for Mao vendors in Imphal.
However, they are unable to sell their products regularly in the State capital due to the present volatile situation.
Stating that the demand for ILPS implementation is justifiable, another vendor demanded the Government to fulfil the people's wish at the earliest.
Saying that vegetables which are to be brought to Imphal are stocked at Mao bazar, the vendor said that these vegetables become rotten if these are kept there for two-three days.
Expressing support to the ongoing agitation spearheaded by JCILPS, he said that indigenous people of the State would become extinct if ILPS is not implemented on time.
He also urged the Government to open educational institutes at the earliest.
Potatoes, cabbages and different types of fruits and vegetables were brought in around 30 vehicles to Imphal from Mao today, he said and added that they had a brisk sale today.
On the other hand, the State capital witnessed a huge number of shoppers turning up to buy the vegetables from Mao.
