Imphal, March 30 2015 :
The militant group Kuki Peoples' Liberation Army/Front (KPLA/KPLF) has announced its decision to boycott the Congress party in the ensuing ADC polls slated for May 30 .
In a statement, the information and publicity secretary of KPLA/KPLF Demkhoseh Kuki said that the Kuki revolutionary groups had signed Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact with the Centre and State Govt in 2008 with the hope of entering into political dialogue for bringing an amicable political solution to the Kuki political problems.
But the hope and aspirations began to fade as the years passed on.
Besides, the SoO has not been extended for the past more than half a year.
The Congress party has been at the helm of power throughout all these periods both at the Centre and Manipur.
It is very clear that the Govt is not taking due seriousness of the Kuki political issue, it said while adding that the matter amounts to sleeping with the enemies.
Asserting that it is the right time to punish the Congress party, the KPLA/KPLF statement further urged the people to know the true colours of the party and urged the public to disassociate themselves from the Congress party.
Seven precious years have been wasted mainly due to the negligence of the Congress Govt.Although the BJP Govt has come at the Centre, the Congress is still ruling in the State and the Kukis cannot expect anything good for them from the Congress party, it asserted.
Those few Kuki politicians who are pledging allegiance to the Congress are no more than traitors and 'selfish' ones as they are only working for their personal gains.
Not only them, the existing SoO signatory Kuki armed groups are also 'traitors' because they are still happily joining hands with the Congress party, the statement said while adding that anyone who is really serious about the future of the Kukis should reject these traitors.
These traitors-politicians have to be punished in the coming election too.
No place should be given to them in the society, it said.
This is the time to ponder a little deeper for the Kukis' political issue before things are too late, the statement added.
The Kukis should analyse this particular issue seriously and make decisions accordingly without fear in the coming days.
For this, a good start can be made with the coming ADC election which is scheduled to be held on May 30 this year.
Anybody who is contesting on Congress ticket will not be tolerated.
This is a stern warning and no more second warning shall be issued, it cautioned.
