Electoral sensitization programme conducted

A one-day electoral sensitization programme for young and future voters was held today at Jiri College.
The programme was conducted as a part of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign "Special Summary Revision - 2025" launched by Manipur Innovation Society (MIS) Imphal across universities, co.leges and schools of the State from October 29 to November 30 under the supervision of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manipur.
The event was attended by Rajkumari Sanajaobi Devi, Principal, Jiri College, Jiribam; Dr H Joykumar Singh, Vice-Principal and Wahengbam Premchand, District Program Coordinator, Manipur Innovation Society as the presidium members.
According to Dr S Arunkumar Singh, Assistant Professor, Jiri College, the primary objective of SVEEP Special Summary Revision-2025 is to include newly eligible and left out voters of the country including boys, girls, PwDs, third genders etc, who have reached or will be reaching the age of 18 years on or before January 1, 2025 in the electoral roll.
Additionally, this will give opportunities to the electors to make corrections in their particulars including name, address and age changes and also to invite objections against any wrong inclusion in the electoral roll, he added.
In order to ensure the publication of an accurate electoral roll, it is the duty of eligible electors to download the Voter Help Line app from Google Play Store and fill up form number 6,7 and 8 to make the necessary changes, he maintained.
