Four UG cadres arrested

Imphal, January 29 2015 : Two cadres belonging to different outfits have been apprehended by security forces from different places in the last 48 hours.

A combined team of Thoubal commandos and troops of 2 AR nabbed a cadre of KNF(N) during a frisking and checking exercise at Yairipok Top Chingtha on January 27 .

According to a press release issued by police PRO RK Tutusana, the apprehended KNF(N) cadre has been identified as Mangminglun Kipgen alias Chand (29) s/o Letkholeh Kipgen of Bongbal Khullen.

One 9 mm pistol loaded with five rounds were seized from his possession.

On the other hand, Imphal East commandos arrested a cadre of KCP-MC identified as Haokhothang Sitlhou (36) s/o Athang Sitlhou of Kangchup Pazang, Senapati district from Uripok Cheirap Court gate on January 28 .

One extortion letter demanding Rs 1.5 lakh from the Khuman Lampak Auto-Rickshaw Service Association and other incriminating articles were seized from his possession, added the press release.

Meanwhile, based on specific intelligence regarding movement of a UG cadre, troops of 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) apprehended one NSCN (IM) cadre who tried to flee MVCP established at Sita road junction on Jan 27 .

According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), the apprehendee was identified as Pte Kh Khumdambring S/o Kh Ratan (28) of Mantripantha, Chandel district.

One Mobile phone and one voter card were recovered from his possession.

The apprehendee along with the recovered item have been handed over to Singjamei PS .

In another operation, troops of 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched an operation in the general area village of Wabagai Tera Pishak Mamang Leikai and apprehended one PLA cadre today.

The apprehendee was identified as Kiran Wahengbam alias Danny, S/o Thoiba Wahengbam, resident of village Wabagai Tera Pishak Mamang Leikai.

The apprehendee has been handed over to Kakching Police Station, it said.
