Thoubal, December 28 2013 : One day programme on awareness and education on harmful effects of drug abuse and alcoholism was held today at Keirak, according to the statement issued by organising groups, Nehru Yuva Kendra thoubal and Keirak Apunba Nisha Lup.

Kh Robindro Singh, Project Director RDS and Lourembam Orenkumar, Consultant were the resource person.

During the keynote address, Y Laksman Singh, District Youth Coordinator, spoke about the need to empower the youth clubs to prevent any problems of drugs and alcohol which can hamper the society.

Kh Robindro stressed on the importance to fight co operatively against drug abuse and alcoholism among the growing youths.

He spoke the need of the parents to spend a quality time with the children to able to understand their course of lives and help to cope with certain problems.

Orenkumar also spoke on how to solve the problem of drug abuse and alcoholism.

He said the best way to help the youngster get out of such addictions is to keep them busy with work in any small or large scale based industries.

Sarungbam Biren Singh, Theatre Director was the Chief Guest and Thingujam Sanatomba Singh, Pradhan of Keirak Gram Panchayat was the President during the programme.
