ZEFPB urges Naga outfits to shun violence

Tamenglong, September 28 2012: Zeliangrong Elders' Forum of Peace Brokers, (ZEFPB) Tamenglong has appeal to all the concerned outfits is to shun violence and killing in the Zeliangrong area.

In a statement, the elder's forum said that the gun-fight between the NSCN: IM and a combined force of NSCN: K and ZUF on the 25 and 26 September 2012 at Matung Village can be read as a deliberate defiance and attempt to derail the peace embodied in the Puiluan Peace Agreement, 2008 which is in place in Zeliangrong area.

The perpetrators can be termed and the saboteurs of the peace.

"There is no other way but to condemn such policies of hatred showing the seeds of violence and killings.

How many times should we appeal to the outfits not to indulge in violence and killings? When will they come to realize the ramifications of war, hatred and killings?", the elders' forum questioned.
