Governor VK Duggal and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi led others in greeting the people of the State especially those from Muslim faith on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitr.
VK Duggal conveyed his warmest greetings to the people of Manipur, especially the Muslim brethen on the auspicious occasion of Id-ul-Fitr.
In his message, VK Duggal stated that the Holy festival not only spread the message of peace and universal love but also entreats mankind to perform deeds of positive value to enhance our souls.
He also called on the people of Manipur to work together and preserve, propagate the message of peace, friendship and love.
Chief Minister O Ibobi conveying his greetings on the prosperous Id-ul-Fitr to all the people of Manipur and particularly to Muslim brethen hoped that the festival will strengthen our faith in oneness, compassion, tolerance and instill a sense of brotherhood among the people and also strengthen its goodwill towards all.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh also wished an auspicious Id ul-Fitr to all the people of Manipur in general and Muslims in particular.
The Speaker averred that with the celebration of Id ul-Fitr, people of Manipur will continue to live in harmony, and peace despite the cultural diversities and work collectively for the development of the State.
Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Md Abdul Nasir conveyed his warm greetings on the auspicious Id-ul-Fitr and hoped that the month long fasting by our Muslim brethen will peace and tranquillity in all the people and the State.
The Inner Manipur MP, Dr Thokchom Meinya also conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the Muslim brothers and sisters of Manipur on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2014 .
In his greetings, the MP stated that month-long Ramadan 2014 ends on the evening of Monday, July 28 and the end of Ramadan is celebrated with a holiday called Eid-ul-Fitr, which is also known as "The Feast of Fast Breaking" .
"We shall now celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Tuesday, July 29.On this auspicious occasion, the MP expressed his solemn desire to maintain peace and harmony amongst the people of Manipur.
Let the Almighty Allah bless all of us a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous Manipur," he said.
