Imphal, April 28 2018:
Reacting to the alleged false charges by Congress spokesman MLA Kh Joykisan with regard to renovation of MPSC building and office rooms and his challenge for an open debate on the matter, BJP Manipur Pradesh has categorically stated that the State Assembly is the only appropriate forum for such a debate.
Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today, BJP spokesman Ch Bijoy said that street corner debate between ruling and Opposition parties does not go with democratic norms.
If the Congress spokesman is impatient to wait for the State Assembly session, he may approach the Court.
Making wild allegations through media and public fora would only undermine the very essence of politics, Bijoy said.
People are fully aware of how the Congress party hired a foreign company to churn out volumes of false propaganda with a view to the next Lok Sabha election.
The corrupt political practices seen in the country is one major contribution of the Congress party which ruled the country for the longest period, Bijoy said.
The practice of buying votes with cash was invented by Congress.
Entertaining voters with grand feasts and intimidation of voters when they refuse to join the party's camp was another invention of the Congress party.
After the introduction of Anti-Defection Law by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, jumbo sized Council of Ministers which remained a regular feature of the State Government was done away with.
Vote bank politics is a culture of Congress party, said the BJP spokesman.
Saying that corruption and graft practices are another culture of Congress party, Bijoy alleged that the rival party has been threatening the Judiciary.
There is no other way of bringing clean politics in the country and the State than uprooting Congress party, he added.
