Assembly adjourned sine die

The 8th session of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die with the constitution of three Financial Committees today.
The three committees formed today comprise of seven elected members each.
Dr Chaltonlien Amo, DD Thaisii, Keisham Meghachandra, Paonam Brojen, Khumukcham Joykisan, Sapam Ranjan and Thokchom Satyabrata Singh are members of the Committee of Public Accounts.
Committee on Estimates comprises of Sanasam Bira, Yamthong Haokip, Md Fajur Rahim, N Indrajit, Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei, K Leishiyo and Surjakumar Okram.
The Committee on Public Undertakings comprises of D Korungthang, Kshetrimayum Biren, Laishram Radhakishore, Ak Mirabai, RK Imo Singh, Soibam Subhaschandra Singh and Heikham Dingo Singh.
Speaker Y Khemchand applauded the Members of the Treasury and Opposition Bench, officers and officials of Manipur Legislative Assembly, security personnel and media fraternity for their co-operation in holding the Assembly session successfully.
Earlier in the day, K Meghachandra raised the demands of the Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee quoting media reports of banning the railway project if their demands are not fulfilled.
He urged the Government to look into the matter seriously.
Yamthong Haokip drew the attention of the House regarding construction of five bridges in Saikul A/C.P Brojen also drew the attention of the House during Zero Hour to introduce alternative crops like wheat, bajra, jowar etc, during the current season as compensatory measures in the face of drought like situation prevailing in the State.
