MoRTH agrees to sanction Rs 111 crore: State BJP

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has reportedly agreed to sanction Rs 111.563 crore for repairing and construction of Imphal-Jiribam highway.
The Ministry also reportedly assured to sanction Rs 47.64 crore for repairing/construction of NH-2 .
This was conveyed by general secretary of BJP Manipur Pradesh M Asnikumar today while speaking to media persons.
M Ashnikumar said that the BJP Manipur State unit had urged the Prime Minister during his visit to the State on Nov 3, 2014 to look into the development of both the National highways.
The PM has agreed to provide all the necessary funds to rebuild the damaged highways, he said.
The two highways have been disconnected due to landslides at various places.
The matter was apprised to the PM, Asnikumar said.
The Ministry concerned has also assured the State BJP that the work along Imphal-Jiribam highway will be looked after by the NHCL.
The Centre is also understood to have agreed to sanction Rs 37.18 crore for the re-construction of Lokchao bridge along Imphal-Moreh during the financial year 2015-16.Asnikumar further said that the NDA Government at the Centre has also sanctioned the requisite amount for expansion of Singjamei-Lilong road into 4 lane road.
For expansion of the road stretch, about Rs 55 crore has been sanctioned and the detail report of all amount sanctioned from the Central Government has been received by BJP Manipur Pradesh., Ashnikumar added.
