J Kumo Sha inaugurates "Eat Right Mela" at Senapati

Senapati, June 25 2022: 47-Karong AC MLA, J Kumo Sha today inaugurated the 1st Eat Right Mela in the district under the theme, "Eat Safe, Eat Healthy & Eat Sustainability" at Multipurpose Hall opposite DC Office Complex, Senapati.

It was organised by the District Administration in collaboration with the Food Safety Administration, Senapati.

Speaking on the occasion, J Kumo Sha stated that food mela should be observed annually to educate the common people about food.

He appealed to the authorities concerned to check whether the food items sold in the market are as per FSSAI standards.

Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Senapati urged the participants to understand food safety, do regular physical exercise and maintain a healthy food habit.

Dr Pfokreho Pfoze, Chief Medical Officer Senapati said that every sickness and disease began with food habits.

As part of the programme, an interactive session and drawing competition for students was also conducted.

Earlier, Mahesh Chaudhari also flagged off an Eat Right Walkathon from Senapati Traffic Point NH-2 to Multipurpose Hall opposite Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati.
