Imphal, July 23 2011: Even as the MGNREGS guarantees 100 working days in a year to the rural poor, some wards under Khurai Kongpal Laishram Gram Panchayat did not get work for more than seven days in a year.

This was disclosed during an interaction programme between the local people and Leishangthem Yaima (Sushildro) today who is preparing to contest Assembly elections in Khurai AC.

After hearing the people's complaint, Sushildro assured that he would take up the matter with the relevant Minister as well as with Youth Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

It is reported that the particular Gram Panchayat in Imphal East district has around 1000 job card holders.
