STDCM holds meeting

The Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee of Manipur (STDCM) held a consultative meeting on May 21 at THAU Community Hall and adopted several resolutions to move forward with its demand for giving ST tag to Meitei/Meetei community, it said in a statement today.
The members present in the meeting presided by its president Dhiraj Yumnam and retired IAS officer Dr RK Nimai as moderator observed a 2-minute silence condoling all persons who lost their lives in the violent conflict between Meiteis and Kukis.
Former Chairperson of Manipur Human Rights Commission Khaidem Mani, Senior Advocate Irom Lalitkumar, chairman IRCS Dr Y Mohen, former Member MHRC RK Rajendra, Head of Department of Law (MU) Dr Yumnam Premananda, Head of Department of PM&RHC (RIMS) Dr Kunjabashi Wangjam, Associate Professor (GPWC) Dr Waikhom Romesh, retired MCS Kh Amujao and president of Federation of Haomee Sapamcha Jadumani were present in the meeting.
Many members of clubs, civil organisations and Meira Paibi Lups also attended the meeting, STDCM said.
