Imphal, February 23 2009:
Refuting the claim of 57th Mountain Division that KCP (MC) leader Lanheiba Meitei has been apprehended from his house at Aizawl as published in local dailies today, the proscribed outfit has clarified that there is no post of C-in-C in the party.
A press release issued by KCP (MC) military affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei alleged that Maj Gen Shakti Gurung's claim of "Operation Grand Slam II" success was fabricated by forcing someone to pose as Lanheiba Meitei.
It further asserted that the objective of the operation was to make Manipur a place of military exercise for army and to keep the land under their alleged repressive rule.
Since the security forces managed to nabbed some KCP leaders from Delhi, Bangalore and Dimapur, they have been intoxicated with their glory.
It is because of this intoxication that they went ahead to declare arrest of a KCP (MC) leader without making any confirmation of the reportedly arrested person's identity.
This only shows weakness of their intelligence wing, the outfit alleged.
Appealing to the people not to fall prey to such ploy of security forces and also not to believe such allegedly baseless news reports, the outfit said that its foremost priority is to build a united revolutionary force for Kangleipak and to struggle jointly.
Informing that the party has made all preparations to work together with other revolutionary organisations of the land, it also called upon all revolutionary leaders to join hands under a firm stance.
