Higher diploma in co-operative management begins

The 29th Session of 26 Week in Higher Diploma in Co-operative management has begun today at Institute of Co-operative Management located at Lamphelpat.
The 5-week long induction training programme for the newly recruited Inspectors of Co-operative Department, 6-month certificate course on computer application and 2-month certificate course on computer based accounting payroll, tax accounting and inventory control also kicked off today at the institute.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Commissioner (Co-operation) BB Sharma said, "Emphasising the importance of imparting knowledge and skills to the newly inducted professionals, the Department has associated with ICM to initiate such training programmes" .

Director of ICM Dr N Ranjana Devi while highlighting the courses offered in the institute said that about 90 to 100 training programmes are being organised at the institute in a year.
She added that since its inception in 1988, the institute has been providing various training programmes including skill development, entrepreneurship and leadership programmes.
The institute has been helping unemployed in getting job opportunities in various fields.
Registrar of Co-operative Societies L Nabakishore Singh, Secretary of National Council for Co-operative Training, New Delhi, Mohan Kumar Mishra, Director of Planning Department Dr Th Munindro Singh and chairman of management committee- ICM L Tompishak Singh were also present at the programme.
