Imphal, September 22 2012: Thoubal district police commandos arrested a UNLF cadre identified as Elangbam Sanayaima Singh alias Panthokpa alias Pena (30) s/o E Inaocha of Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai today around 10am from Wabagai Bazar.

A statement of Thoubal SP said the arrested man is assigned A No 1621 of 26 batch and got training at Henglep in 2003.He is presently working under the command of SS Maj Mayamba.

Meanwhile, a team of Imphal East police commandos led by two women SIs arrested two women activists of URF yesterday from Konung Mamang near Kushum Service Station.

A statement issued by the Imphal East SP identified the two activists as Chongtham (O) Memi Touthang alias Ningboi (33) w/o Ch Doren Singh and Ningombam (N) Chongtham (O) Anita Devi (39) w/o Ch Hero Singh, both from Tera Amudon Akham Leikai.

Rs 20,000 along with two black colour lady hand bags, two mobile phones along with two SIM cards were recovered from their possession, the statement said.

The two activists were stated to have revealed that they were involved in collection of huge amount of money from the public as instructed by Doren, who is in Bangladesh, it added.
