The last session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly is likely to be held in the newly constructed Assembly hall.
To make sure that there are no hiccups to its plan of inviting Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for inaugurating Assembly complex, High Court, City Convention Centre and the ISBT in November, the State Government has been closely monitoring all these pet projects.
Today too, Works Minister K Ranjit inspected construction works of Assembly complex as well as the ISBT which are nearing completion.Talking to The Sangai Express, Works Minister K Ranjit stated that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi would come to the State between November 15 and 20 and inaugurate some major projects including the Capital Project, High Court complex, City Convention Centre and ISBT.
Ranjit said that he and engineers of his department have been closely monitoring construction works of these projects which are going day and night so as to ensure everything is ready ahead of the arrival of Dr Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi at Imphal.
Exuding that these projects can be completed ahead of the arrival of Dr Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, the Works Minister stated that the last session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly can be held in the new Assembly hall even if it is for four/five days only.
As for the Imphal city road and streets which are in bad shape and could not be repaired in time because of Sewerage Project, hectic repairing works have begun with officials of Works Department supervising them day and night to make sure that everything is ready before the arrival of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Ranjit informed.
