Student bodies warn of intensified agitation if transfer order not revoked

Jiribam, August 21 2021:
Manipur Student Federation (MSF), Jiribam District Committee and Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), Jiribam & Tamenglong jointly condemned the transfer of 5 teachers from Jiribam district and warned of intensified agitation if the transfer orders are not revoked within 6 days during a press conference held at MSF office in Babupra, Jiribam district, today.
Speaking to media persons, MSF D/C president, Atom Rajiv Meitei stated that the student bodies of Jiribam strongly condemned the transfer of 5 teachers from Borobekara Higher Secondary School and Jiribam Higher Secondary School in Jiribam district when the number of teachers in district is already insufficient.
He appealed to the State Government and the concerned authority to either revoke the transfer order or transfer teachers as replacement for them at the earliest.
He also cautioned the School Principals to not issue the release order for the teachers.
It may be mentioned that the 5 teachers including M Romeo Singh and Nodiyachand from Jiribam Higher Secondary School; RK Uttam, S Inaobi Singh and Naorem Romio Singh from Borobekara Higher Secondary School were transferred earlier from Jiribam district.
The press conference was also attended by KSO advisor, Samuel Haokip and vice president, Seilal Khongsai.
