Court fixes charge hearing today

Imphal, August 21 2019: Session Court, Imphal East fixed tomorrow, August 22, for the charge hearing against Khunjamayum Helen alias Thoi and her paramour, Naosekpam Rabi, Pradhan of Bamon Kampu Gram Panchayat, in connection with the brutal murder of one Khunjamayum Arun (Helen's husband) on April 24 at Siphai Lou Bamon Kampu.

Khunjamayum Helen alias Thoi (25) w/o (L) Arun of Bamon Kampu Makha Leikai and Naosekpam Rabi (45) s/o (L) Nimai of Bamon Kampu Khabam have been lodged in judicial custody at Manipur Central Jail Imphal and Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa respectively from May 4.On August 8, the case record was received by Session Court, Imphal East from the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East and the Session Court registered the case as a session trial case, directing the SPs of Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa and Manipur Central Jail Imphal to produce the two individuals before the Court tomorrow for their charge hearing.

It may be mentioned that Khunjamayum Arun was found brutally murdered, some half a kilometre away from his residence, at Siphai Lou, in the morning of April 24, a day after he went out from his residence and failed to return.
