Naga Students' Union Chandel lauds Govt's resolution on college attendance

The Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) has lauded the Government's resolution to implement compulsory 75 percent attendance for students of all Government and Government-aided colleges.
In a press release, NSUC president Ruwnglar Elly Anal stated that the union is "happy to learn that the Government has imposed a minimum 75 percent attendance for all students in Government and Government-aided colleges or that they shall not be allowed to fill the examination forms nor appear in the semester examinations" .
The Government issued the notification following a resolution taken by the Manipur University in the meeting of the Committee for preparation of Examination Regulations for 4-year Degree Course under NEP-2020 held on November 16, 2022, the release said.
The NSUC maintained that as per that resolution, the Govern ment directed all Government and Government-aided colleges to hold daily assembly of staff and students.
NSUC, the apex student body of the Naga students in Chandel district hailed Chief Minister N Biren Singh and the authorities concerned especially H Gyan Prakash, Commissioner (Hr.&Tech.
Edn), Government of Manipur for this positive move to improve and enhance the educational system in the State.
Stating that the NSUC was formed with the objective to look into the welfare of the students in Chandel district, the NSUC president said that the student body has been working to improve the overall educational system in the district.
Hence, it sees the move of the Government in a positive light, a move that will brighten the future of the district.
He assured that the Naga student body will extend all possible help to implement and enforce the resolution in the district.
Moreover, it will ensure that the attendance system is followed not only for students but for teaching and non-teaching staff too, it added.
The Naga student body will leave no stones unturned to see that quality education is prioritised in all the educational institutions in Chandel district.
Furthermore the student body extended best wishes to the Government in implementing the resolutions of the Manipur University for providing quality education in the State.
