Agitating teachers lock WAKF Board office

Demanding to release 15 months salaries of the Madrasa teachers, the WAKF Board office has been locked by the agitating Madrasa teacher.
The Publicity Secretary of the All Manipur Madrasa Modernisation Teachers' Welfare Association Md Rafi expressed that the 15 months' salary of the 150 teachers under Madrasa Modernisation Scheme which is implemented by WAKF Board have not been released.
He further informed that the teachers have started organising sit in protest at the gate of the WAKF Board located at Hatta Golapati in Imphal east district since the last many days and as part of the agitation, the WAKF Board office has been kept locking by the Madrasa teachers so as to attract the attention of the concerned authority.
Md Rafi further said that they will continue the agitation with more stringent activities.
He also mentioned that the Madrasa Modernisation Scheme has been implemented in most the States of the Country.
After due process of DPC, Md Rafi added, the teachers of 30 recognised Madrasa in different five subjects were served posting on November 24, 2011.He further mentioned that the teachers are doing their duty of teaching the students without getting the take home salary for the last 15 months in the interest of the students who are the future of the nation.
Rafi also expressed the hardships faced by the teachers while managing their families for the last many months.
On the back drop of such situation, the cumulative 15 months salaries of the 150 teachers should be released before Eid-ul-Fitr, he demanded.
