Imphal, March 21 2017:
People's Awareness for National Advancement (PANA), Langol Laimanai and Miyam Amata Oina Punba Lup (MAPUL), Langol have today demanded the authority concerned to look into the various ongoing development works in Lamphelpat area.
PANA and MAPUL have alleged that some people have been misusing the fund meant for the development projects.
PANA secretary L Meenabanta said, "For personal benefits, some people are been issued work order and executing projects in Lamphelpat area."

"Lamphelpat which has a total of 10,000 acres of land has been utilized for setting up of hospital, police station, Game Village, CAU, NIT and private residences.
Lamphelpat has now just over 100 acres of unused land," Meenabanta said.
Lamphelpat is a wetland and has been playing an important role in maintaining the climatic condition of the State.
Instead of conserving the place, various other projects have been initiated by people with vested interest, Meenabanta added and said extensive precautions must be taken while executing any work as rise in the level of water in the wetland can severely affect the people living in and around Lamphelpat.
