KAPF Meeting appeals NSCN (IM) and ZUF

Khoupum Area Peace Forum (KAPF) organised a consultative leaders meeting at Majorkhul community hall yesterday.
The meeting deliberated on the prevailing tension arising out of armed confrontation between the cadres of NSCN (IM) and ZUF.
Various Zeliangrong civil society organisations and social workers attended the meeting, said a press release.
The meeting observed that both the outfits must restrain confrontation in public places and avoid casualties to the general public.
It also sought intervention from Naga civil society organisations like Naga Hoho, UNC, FNR, ZB, AZSU, ZU, AZSUM, RLP, KAMA and ZYF into the matter.
The meeting appealed the NSCN (IM) and ZUF to shun violent confrontation and come forward for peace and harmony.
In a separate press release, KAPF has expressed concern over the rise of violent incidents at Khoupum area in the recent past.
Saying that the area is one of the most backward areas of the State, KAPF urged all concerned not to put on extra burden and hardship to the people of the area with unnecessary harassment and violent activities.
