Naga Accord hailed

Luangba (Nungba) area Churches organised a thanksgiving and historic Naga accord support rally on Aug 17 at Rongdai Baptist Church, Nungba headquarters.
Pastors, deacons, catechists, VA chairmen, church members, public leaders of Nungba area consisting about 20 villages took part in the programme, according to a statement.
Ashinpou Gangmei, Dr Benjamin Gangmei and Poupoklung Kamei delivered speeches on the hard earned peace accord and importance of coexistence of all communities.
Welcoming the Naga accord signed on Aug 3, the public pledged to continue unflinching support to the noble cause of the Naga nation and to work with renewed energy for attaining a vibrant Naga society in future.
The meeting ended with a mass prayer so that details of the framework agreement are worked out smoothly.
They also offered a prayer for longevity and physical fitness of both the Naga leaders and Indian leaders and for unity of the Nagas.
The gatherings further decided to carry forward the hard earned accord to every nook and corner of Nagalim particularly in Zeliangrong region, the statement said.
