ADRA India distributes water disinfection kit to flood victims

Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), India in collaboration with Centre for Women and Girls (CWG) distributed water disinfection kit to flood affected families at CWG office located at Lhunnajang village today, our correspondent reports.
Under the project Manipur Flood Response 2015, a water disinfection kit comprising of 20 litres capacity bucket, one litre mug and 6 strips of 75 mg Purifast tablets were distributed to the flood affected families of different communities from Chandel and Thoubal district.
Reverend Henjalen Doungel, Pastor, KBC Centre Church of Molnoi area and Gladwin Bol, Emergency Response Coordinator of ADRA, India and other staff of ADRA took part in the distribution program.
Speaking to media persons, Hechin Haokip, District Co-ordinator ADRA, Chandel and Secretary of CWG said the water disinfection kit is being distributed in response to the recent flood in the State.
The distribution was held after conducting necessary field assessment, coordinating with other NGOs and inputs from concern District Administration.
So far, ADRA, India has provided a sum of Rs 1000 each in cash as financial assistance to 500 flood affected families of Chandel and some pocket of Thoubal district.
The water disinfection kit will be provided to 1000 flood affected households in both Chandel and Thoubal, she added.
