CCpur, April 19 2017:
The JAC Against Anti Tribal Bills has today announce its plan to observe their 600 days of unflinching protest and called on the public to join them in thanking the Lord for leading the movement this far and seek His continued guidance for an early solution to the prolong impasse even as the JAC reaffirms its commitment towards the struggle for tribal self-determination.
"Our struggle for tribal self-determination that was triggered by the passing of the three anti-tribal Bills by the previous Congress Government in Manipur will cross its 600th day on April 22, 2017 .
With the mortal remains of the eight of our tribal martyrs still awaiting an honourable burial and an amicable solution, our struggle is far from over," said a statement of the JAC AATB issued later today.
As a mark of respect to the supreme sacrifices made by the 'tribal martyrs', the statement requested all shops, business establishments and institutions to down their shutters on this day from day-break till sundown.
It also declared that no vehicle shall ply on the road in and around the town all this while but made relaxation for the press and media, electricity, medical including medical emergencies, airport pick up and drops, pre-planned programmes, and exams.
