TR Zeliang writes to O Ibobi

Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang has written to his Manipur counterpart O Ibobi Singh seeking the latter's "urgent and immediate intervention" to ensure that the lives and properties of the Nagas in Imphal valley are secured.
TR Zeliang assured the Manipur Chief Minister that "on the part of the Government of Nagaland, all steps are being taken to safeguard the safety of the Meiteis residing in or traveling through Nagaland" .
The Nagaland Chief Minister's letter to the Manipur Chief Minister also sought the attention of the latter "on the plight of hundreds of Nagas who are stranded in Imphal valley and are being prevented from proceeding to their respective villages in the hills" .
The TR Zeliang letter to O Ibobi Singh also said, "It is reported that several buses and other vehicles carrying Nagas have been stopped and torched," adding, "It appears that the law enforcing authorities in Imphal are not in a position to check or stop such lawless and violent activities which are endangering the lives of the Nagas in Manipur" .
