Imphal, October 18 2021: In a tragic incident, at least 3 persons died instantly when 3 cars collided near Khangabok Sorojini Oil Pump along the Asian Highway no 1 at around 3 pm today.

The deceased have been identified as Langhu Langhring (43) s/o late Kang of Chandel Sinadam, his daughter Harsh (20) and one Maibam Nabakumar (31) from Salungpham.

It is reported that one red Alto K 10 heading towards Imphal from Salungpham side came gliding above the median along the National Highway and hit the other two cars (one white Chevrolet Aveo and a grey Alto) which were heading toward Chandel and Sangaiyumpham respectively.

It is reported that Maibam Nabakumar who was coming from Salungpham side and the father-daughter duo who were heading toward Chandel were killed instantly.

It is further reported that 6 other individuals (2 from Sangaiyumpham and 4 from Chandel) who were occupying the cars were injured in the accident.

They were rushed to District Hospital Thoubal before being referred to a hospital at Imphal.

Of the six injured, Enrye (16) from Chandel and one from Sangaiyumpham are said to be in critical condition.
