ICAR, MSBSG team call on Governor

Imphal, December 17 2024: Dr Pramod Kumar Pandey, Director, ICAR-Directorate of Cold water Fisheries Research, along with two others called on Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan in Imphal today.

The ICAR team apprised the Governor about the steps taken up by the Institute to ensure development of fisheries in the State.

He invited the Governor to attend the inaugural ceremony of fisheries infrastructure in Manipur University slated to be held in January, 2025.In response, the Governor lauded the efforts of the institute in augmenting the pace of fisheries as an allied sector in the State.

Separately, Th Heramani Singh, State Secretary, Manipur State Bharat Scouts and Guides along with seven others called on the Governor this evening and invited him to grace the upcoming Rajya Puraskar Award, also known as the Governor's Award scheduled to be held in the early part of the coming year.

Additionally, today Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya planted a tree sapling of Manipur State Tree 'Uningthou' (Phoebe hainesiana) at the premise of Raj Bhavan with an aim to make the ambitious nationwide campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' for a green India, a grand success.
