Jiri, December 15 2014: The Kuki Inpi, Tamenglong and Jiri Zone and Kuki Chiefs' Association, Tousem block have strongly condemned the reported abduction of an engineer and a supplier involved in the Jiri railway construction by unidentified miscreants on Dec 8 .

Addressing a press meet today, Kuki Inpi Tamenglong and Ziri Zone president Jangsat Haokip urged all concerned to refrain from harassing officials and workers involved in railway construction.

Such unwarranted acts have shamed public leaders of the area.

All concerned should be aware that the Kulbung-Thingtubung road is accessible with the coming of the railway line and all concerned should refrain from causing harassment to the officials and workers, he said.

Chairman of KCA Tousem block, Khupneh Dimngel appealed to all concerned not to repeat such acts of abduction of officials and workers.
