Vision Document 2030 launched

With an aim to improve the quality of life and bring rapid development in the State by 2030, Chief Minister N Biren Singh today launched the 'Manipur Vision Document 2030' at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister's Secretariat.
Speaking at the launch function, the Chief Minister said that Manipur stood at 6th position along with two other States out of 29 States as per NITI Aayog SDG India Index, Baseline Report (2018) .
Manipur's composite score was 59 as against all India average score of 54, he added.
He highlighted that this is made possible due to the transparent and inclusive governance of the BJP-led Government in the past two years and a half.
The Chief Minister maintained that the Vision document will provide a holistic and futuristic actionable approach, guiding the State in formulating public policies and programmes for the development of Manipur leading to welfare for all.
He mentioned that the document will enable Manipur to utilize available resources optimally without compromising the needs and wants of future generations.
The Chief Minister said that by 2030 the State will achieve all round peace and prosperity, bridge hill-valley divide, attain food security and freedom from malnutrition and hunger, ensure housing with adequate sanitation, eliminate violence against women and establish connectivity and good infrastructure.
He congratulated the Planning Department, Manipur University and UNDP for successfully bringing out the Vision Document.
The 276-paged Manipur Vision Document is broadly divided into five sections and contains 20 chapters.
The document explores various areas and themes like agriculture, education, health, gender equality, peace, justice, sanitation, industry, biodiversity etc.
The Vision Document 2030 is designed and developed by incorporating 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) based on inputs given by various stakeholders.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare L Jayantakumar, Minister for CAF& PD Karam Shyam, Minister for PHED Losii Dikho, Minister for Forest and Environment Th Shyamkumar, Minister for Agriculture V Hangkhanlian, Minister for Social Welfare Nemcha Kipgen, Minister for Education Th Radheshyam, Chairman Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation S Rajen, MLA Th Satyabratra, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, Commissioners, Secretaries, HoDs, Regional Head UNDP John Borjoyary, Prof E Bijoykumar of Manipur University and officials of Planning Department attended the function.
