AMSU, District Committee to close down schools, ZEO office for two days

Stating the State Government has failed to initiate steps to improve the executive functioning of Jiri College despite several memoranda being submitted, the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), District Committee, Jiribam has today resolved to shut down private and Government schools and the ZEO office on November 20 and 21, reports our correspondent.
Speaking to media persons today, AMSU, District Committee, Jiribam president Y Sanjib Singh said that memoranda submitted earlier had mentioned of resorting to rigorous agitation by AMSU, District Committee, Jiribam if the demand is not met within the month of October.
Protesting against the State Government's alleged negligence, students in Jiribam had worn black badges on November 2 .
Continuing the agitation, AMSU, District Committee, Jiribam has resolved to close down schools and ZEO office on November 20 and 21, Sanjib said.
The State Government and local MLA Th Debendra should be held responsible for any untoward incident that might follow during the course of agitation, Sanjib added.
