Driver found killed along NH-2

Imphal, May 15, 2013:
An autorickshaw driver has been found dead with his slit throat in between Katomai and Maram Khunou in Senapati district today.
The slain driver has been identified as Kumar Gautam (19) s/o Balkrishna of Kato-mai Part-I. A source said that the autorickshaw driven by Gautam (MN-01Y7039) was hired by an unidentified person from Senapati Bazar around 10 am today.
Sharp object marks were found on the neck and left arm of the deceased driver.
The body has been deposited at RIMS morgue by the Senapati police.
The auto was recovered from the spot.
Meanwhile, the Senapati District Motor Vehicles Owners' Association has registered its strong condemnation over the murder of Kumar Gautam.
A statement issued by the secretary of SDMVOA, Sahdev Gurung urged the authority concerned to book the culprits and give exemplary punishment at the earliest.
It may be mentioned that a truck driver identified as Komit Ali of Assam's Sonitpur district was found dead on May 7 last at the bed of Imphal River along Sapermeina-Saikul road.
