Induction & refresher training begins

A two-days Induction and Refresher Training for new & existing social worker members of Juvenile Justice Boards began yesterday at the Observation Home for Boys, Takyelpat, Imphal West District.
The training programme was organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur.
Speaking on the occasion, Department of Social Welfare, Director, Ngangom Uttam Singh exhorted the new social worker members to have a clear understanding of the Acts and its rules.
He advised the new & existing social worker members participating in the training programme to interact with the resource persons and clear all their doubts regarding the Juvenile Justice system.
Ng Uttam also shared that the Social Welfare Department has notified the Education Department to establish a Crisis Intervention Centre in every school.
"The Crisis Intervention Centre will consist of one teacher from the school and representatives of nearby deaddiction centres as members", he added.
SCPS, Programme Officer, Mala Lisham delivered a lecture on the topic, "Ice Breaking Session and JJ System" while Manipur Judicial Academy faculty, M Loyalakpa elaborated on "Salient features of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015" and SCPS, Programme Officer, Sandhya Mangsatabam spoke on "Introduction to Mission Vatsalya under Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India" .
