ADCC gets garbage trucks; portable power back up for District Hospital

Churachandpur, August 14 2021:
For better solid waste management, Minister (TA & Hills, GAD, Transport) Vungzagin Valte dedicated 3 sanitary trucks (tippers) and GI Pipes procured under the 15th FC Grants 2020-21 to the Autonomous District Council Administration, Churachandpur at ADCC campus today.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Valte clarified that different care-taker chairmen for Autonomous District Councils (ADC) were appointed to safeguard the grass-root democratic institution of ADC in the hill districts.
Through the ADCC, waste dumping and open burning as the principal methods of waste disposal in Churachandpur will be minimized.
The stench and ugly sight of garbage dumped on the road side, sometimes overflowing from drains or floating on the surface of the rivers will be under control with the help of these sanitary trucks, the minister added.
Valte mentioned that the segregated solid waste management project is only the beginning, biogas projects and other waste management projects are also in the pipeline.
Ginsuanhau Zou, MLA Singngat AC (Chairman MTDC & MANIREDA), Khaipao Haokip, Caretaker Chairman, ADCC, Letkhogin Haokip, Addl CS, DLOs and public leaders attended the programme.
The TA & Hills Minister also handed over 5 portable power backup (UPS Unit) for BiPAP machines to the District Hospital Administration through Dr Vanlalkungi, Medical Superintendent today.
