Imphal, February 14 2016:
Taking a dig at BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba's claim that he had submitted a project report for taking up a water supply project at the cost of Rs 36 crore, Nambol A/C MLA N Loken has declared that he would not contest the next Assembly election if Chaoba can produce a copy of the project report within a week.
An annual meeting of the polling committees of Nambol A/C was held today at its office under the aegis of Nambol Block Congress Committee.
Speaking at the gathering, Loken said that people are not fools to believe the lies uttered by Th Chaoba.
He maintained that Congress won only three seats in the election of Nambol Municipal Council as he stayed away from the election whereas the whole family of Th Chaoba were deeply involved in the election.
Th Chaoba's political career was terminated in 1985 as far as Nambol A/C is concerned and people need not worry about Congress party's poll prospects, Loken assured.
BJP will not be able to win even nine seats in the next Assembly election.
BJP has no strong base in Manipur.
Some political figures joined BJP only after they were not admitted in Congress party.
Selection of Manipur for construction of a Sports University in Manipur is not a gift of the Centre's BJP Government.
The university was won by the consistent, excellent performance of Manipuri players in national and international sports championships, Loken asserted.
