Imphal, September 13 2020:
The National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) observed its 20th foundation day, today.
A press release issued by NIPCO said that the function held at its conference hall was attended by Th Manihar, president, NIPCO; Sunil Karam, president, UCM & advisor NIPCO and Ng Deba, advisor NIPCO as presidium members.
As part of the celebration, a team of NIPCO members headed by Th Manihar and Ng Deba also distributed edible items to select households in Imphal areas which have been declared containment zones.
All the participants followed SOPs for COVID-19 issued by the Government, said NIPCO.

The statement stated that NIPCO had fought issues that challenged the integrity of the State and social evils that posed threats to the States future, since its establishment years back and will continue to do so.
Fighting the issues that surround the State today unitedly, irrespective of caste, creed, sex, or religion is the key to strengthen hills-valley tie, it said.
Claiming that GoI is employing divide and rule policy in the region for their gain, the council urged people of different communities to be aware of the scheme.
People of Manipur should also keep track of each and every development concerning Naga peace talks, NIPCO said.
Demanding that the integrity of the State should not be compromised at any cost by the peace talks which is expected by many to end soon, NIPCO cautioned that sidelining the interest of State's natives might invite agitation much more aggressive than the July 18, 2001 uproar.
The Government should also refrain from favouring only one party, it added.
Meanwhile, NIPCO opined that conducting bye-election to certain Assembly seats of the State now won't be appropriate as COVID cases, including fatality continue to increase.
The Government should take full responsibility for all eventualities if they conduct the bye-election 'forcefully' .
"The Government is urging the people to stay home to defeat the pandemic and at the same time they are planning to conduct bye-election to 13 ACs, which is very contradictory, " it added.
