Hill Tribal Council Moreh, in association with Kuki CSOs of Moreh, under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Manipur, organised a rally from Galngam Lentuol ground and across Moreh town today.
The rally wrapped up at HTC office where a public meeting was held, reports our correspondent.
Vehicular movements were halted while business establishments and schools remained closed during the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Hill Tribal Council Moreh president Ginkhosei Lhungdim said that Kuki Black Day is observed to pay homage to all the Kuki brethren, who were killed by NSCN (IM) in the alleged genocide.
The president went on to state that memos have been submitted to the PM over 60 times demanding justice for the Kuki victims.
However, all those have been in vain.
Memos will be submitted repeatedly until justice is delivered, Ginkhosei added.
On the other hand, Kuki Inpi Jiri-Tamenglong zone observed Kuki Black Day at the community hall of Phaitol village, Tamenglong district today followed by a silent procession, reports our correspondent.
The silent procession was participated by over 500 people.
Later a public meeting was organised in which the locals held placards, which read, "Kuki solution before Naga solution", "World must condemn NSCN-IM pogrom" and "Kuki crisis for justice" etc.
Speaking at the function, Kuki Inpi Jiri-Tamenglong zone president Jangsat Haokip said that the Government has not been able to serve justice for the all Kukis who died in the massacre, till date, which is unfortunate and highly condemnable.
Jangsat has questioned if the Central and the State Governments are inviting violent protests from the people by keeping mum and failing to take up any action.
