Imphal, May 13 2016 :
Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) has announced to enforce the 48 hrs total shutdown slated to begin from May 16 to May 18 in Zeliangrong areas with the support and participation of the people.
It also said that the all political parties delegation which the Govt decided to depute to New Delhi to press for conversion of three 'anti-tribal' Bills into Acts does not represent the interest of the tribal.
In a statement, ZYF said that the Manipur Govt's decision to depute an all political parties team to Delhi to pressurize the Central Govt and the President of India to give assent to the three 'anti-tribal' Bills against the interest of the tribal people shows its anti tribal character.
This will only create further misunderstanding and division between the people of valley and hills of the State.
The State Govt should be held responsible for any unwanted fallouts.
The tribal people have been protesting against the three 'anti tribal' Bills because at the time of passing of the three Bills, the State Assembly superseded the mandatory provisions and procedures which are inherent in the India Constitution.
As such, accepting the unconstitutional Bills will only be a demeaning to the Constitution and will amount to mockery of the India Constitution.
Legal luminary and a Pro-ILPS senior advocate who belongs to the Meitei community also stated in the public domain that there are flaws in the Bills and suggested that flaws can be rectified or amended.
Why FIR and legal step should not be initiated against those legislators who participated in passing of the unconstitutional three 'anti tribal' Bills? Why FIR should not be registered against the leaders of those political parties who support the unconstitutional three 'anti tribal' Bills?, it asked.
