Sky Hospital has performed a closure of hole in the hearts of three children on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the PRO of Sky Hospital, two of the patients, Bijanti (17) d/o L Manisang of Haobam Marak and Baby (3) d/o Ch Nabakumar of Changangei belong to BPL families.
Bijanti's father died while she was still young.
Her mother could not afford her operation.
"Sky Hospital performed the device closure of the hole in her heart without operation free of charge (OT charge, hospital charge, admission to discharge, ICU care, oxygen charge etc)," the statement said.
The hole in the heart of Baby was also closed without operation using the device free of charge.
All the three children were admitted on Oct 9 and were discharged on Oct 11 after closing the holes in their hearts by non-operative device.
Dr L Shyamkishore Singh, chief cardiologist and chairman, Sky Hospital expressed satisfaction over the success of the non-operative closure of hole in the heart.
He pledged to continue to provide such free service to children belonging to BPL families not only from Manipur but also neighbouring NE States of India.
