Two NSCN (IM) cadres arrested

Imphal, June 11 2011: Troops of 17 Assam Rifles arrested two NSCN (IM) cadres including a self styled Town Commander of Ukhrul early morning today.

The two were arrested from a spot in between Ngaingu and Somdal village in Ukhrul district, said a police source.

The styled Town Commander is identified as Reisang Tangkhul of Kongkam village of Kamjong sub-division in Ukhrul district while the other has been named as S/S Sgt Ramthing.

As news of the arrest spread a large number of people in Ukhrul town gathered and started mobilising the rest to demand the release of the two cadres, reports our correspondent.
