Statue of Lamyanba Irawat unveiled at Hojai

Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF), Manipur in association with Manipuri Women Literary and Cultural Organisation (MWLCO) unveiled a statue of Lamyanba Irawat at Nandapur, Hojai in Assam.
This is the third statue of Lamyanba Irawat installed by PAWF in Assam, the other two being installed at Lakhipur and Tripura.
The land for the installation of the statue in Hojai was donated by Thangjam Irabot of Nandapur, Hojai.
The unveiling ceremony was graced by Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, president of PAWF, founder secretary, OC Meira, secretary, Rakesh Naorem, PAWF Tripura Branch advisor, Dr Ksh Madhabi, MWLCO founder president, Renuka Yumnam, president Huirongbam Kunjabati, social activists, Dr Yengkhom Bhagyachandra and Konsam Michael as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, the Forum founder secretary, OC Meira and Retd.Teacher & Social Activist Huirongbam Binodbihari highlighted the life history of Irawat and his contribution to the society.
OC Meira continued that the integrity of Manipur can be fulfilled only when people bear the mentality of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat.
Rakesh Naorem, secretary of PAWF stated that the statue of Lamyanba Irawat was erected in Hojai to create a sense of unity among Meeteis residing in various parts of the world.
He continued that if Meeteis of Assam, Tripura, Bangladesh and Myanmar do not cooperate and work together our society will move backwards.
