Imphal, November 10 2014: Imphal west, Imphal East and Thoubal District police conducted search operations in their respective districts this morning.

Imphal West district police led by Additional SP K Meghachandra conducted search operation at Kekru and Zomi Villa of North AOC under Imphal police station.

During the search operation, a large number of male youth who were present in the area were called out by the police for verification and they included five IRB personnel.

On the other hand, Thoubal district police conducted cordon and house to house search operation today from 5 am to 7.30 am at Lilong bazar and its surrounding areas under Lilong police station.

The cordon and house to house search operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional SP S Ibomcha and DSP Shankerdeba.

The police team was led by Inspector Anand and RK Tejbir, Officer in Charge of Lilong police station.

All the males between the age of 18 and 50 years were called out from the respective houses for verification.

After the verification, seven non-locals who were without proper identity proof documents were picked up and handed over to Lilong PS for further verification.

A similar search operation was conducted at Hatta Golapati area from 4.30 am to 6.30 am under Porompat police station.

The search operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional SP Singhajit and the team was led led by Inspector P Achouba, Officer-in-Charge Imphal East commando along with women police personnel.

During the search operation, all people of the area including women between the age of 15 and 50 years were called out by the police team and their identities were verified one by one.

After verification, 29 persons including non-locals were detained and handed over to Porompat police station for further verification.
