Imphal, November 10 2013: A medical assessment/identification camp for Wangoi Block was held today under the aegis of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan at Wangoi Block Resource Centre.

According to ZEO Wangoi K Nabakishore the medical assessment/identification camp for children with special needs (CWSN) is a part of the inclusive education of SSA/SMA Manipur.

Stating that the objective of such a camp is to identify whether children between 6-14 years of age have any physical deformities or mental instability, the ZEO said if any case is detected SSA provides them necessary aids and appliances so that they sustain educational pursuit as well as mingle with their more fortunate peers.

The SSA endeavour covers health/medical issues related to orthopaedics, mental retardation, multiple disorder, visual impairment, etc, said Nabakishore explained.
