The statement said that the Initiative has been working hard to bring normalcy and peace in the district and communicating with the Union Home Ministry and departments concerned to stop promulgation of CrPC 144 from the town.
Seeing the development in the last two days where the Centre and State government decided to call back the deployed security forces and relax the CrPC 144 for 12 hours, the statement called upon the people of the town which was in mayhem for a new dawn.
The Initiative also appealed to the United Naga Council and other apex bodies of Tangkhul to choose peace, development and growth of the region, which have been deprived for more than a decade under the Congress rule.
Every civil society which stood with the cause of UNC and people of Ukhrul for the last 2 months must strongly condemn such act.
