I-Day search operation continues

Imphal, August 10, 2014: A search operation was conducted today at Tekcham under the Kakching police station as a security brief up for the coming Independence Day.

The operation was led by Addl SP S Ibomcha, Thoubal commando DSP Th Desworjit and OC commando Ch Anandkumar.

In the operation, males aged from 15 and above were paraded at Tekcham Laibung and verified with valid identity cards.

Six peoples without proper ID and two suspected persons identified as Ramesh Tamang (34), s/o Sartar Singh Tamang of Ukhrul and Tekcham Ibotombi Singh (58), s/o Ahongsing of Tekcham were apprehended and sent to Kakching police for further verification.

On the other hand Imphal east district Police along with the women police personnel under the supervision of additional SP operation Imphal east District police lead by P Achouba conducted a search operation Golapati water Reservoir road under Porompat Police station today early morning During the search operation, 31 persons had been detained by the police team and handed over to the Porompat Police Station for necessary verifications.

Among the 31 detained persons 3 persons were found possessing of fake voter ID card and the remaining 28 were without their proper identity proof.

On the other hand, Imphal west district police conducted a surprise search operation in various places of Imphal west district today evening.

A team of Imphal west district police under the supervision of K Meghachandra Singh Additional SP Operation at Thangmeiband Fishery crossing and during the search operation 8 persons who have failed to produce their proper verification proof were detained and handed over to the Lamphel Police Station for further verification.

One the other hand, another team of Imphal west district police led by the Shasianand DSP Imphal west commando and Inspector Sanjoy Officer-in-Charge Imphal west commando carried out surprise search operation simultaneously at Kwakeithel Bazzar and Singjamei super Market.

During the search operation at Kwakeithel Bazaar, 14 persons who were without their proper verification identity proof were detained by the police team and handed over to the Singjamei police station for further verification and during the search operation at Singjamei Super Market 17 persons were detained who were without their proper verification identity proof and handed over to the Singjamei police station for further verification.
