Girl should be brave enough to say 'no' to advances against their will: 2nd MR CO

2nd MR Commandant Victoria Yengkhom has said that girls should be brave enough to say 'no' to advances that are against their will and they should not keep such behaviour of known peoples or strangers to themselves.
She made the remark while attending the inauguration of a smart class room sponsored by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) at Nabalini Ashtham in Ghari Awang Leikai today.
Speaking at the event, Victoria Yengkhom said the initiatives taken up by SIDBI for the girl students in the Nabali Ashtham is laudable.
She also appealed all the residents of Nabali Ashtham to properly utilise the facilities being set-up at the centre.

Victoria further added that as the centre also has a number of girls who have been victims of various violence, there is a need for the staff in the centre to be more careful in dealing with the residents of the centre.
She also added that education is very much needed in order to achieve our dreams and the girl students to give more focus on their studies.
The inaugural programme was attended by RK Memcha, Session Judge Imphal East; Linda Kshetrimayum, Chartered Accountant; Vikram Kumar, SIDBI Imphal Branch in-charge and Sobhana Sorokhaibam, secretary Nirvana Foundation as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, RK Memcha told the girls of the centre that SIDBI has provided the centre with smartclass and now it was their turn to become smart individuals.
She also advocated for group discussions amongst students.
