Th Radheshyam chairs review meeting

Imphal, June 09 2020:
Minister of Education, Labour & Employment, Dr Thokchom Radheshyam, also district in-charge Thoubal and Kakching, held a review meeting on the situation, actions being taken and preparedness for management to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the districts, today.
The meeting was held in the conference hall, DC Office Thoubal.
At the outset, the Minister appreciated the dedication of all District Administration officers of the two districts who are carrying out their duty in containing the spread of COVID-19 .
The meeting discussed about the steps and precautionary measures needed to be taken up to overcome the challenges and problems against COVID-19 in the coming days.
Dr Th Radheshyam stated that so far there has been no case of community transmission in the state and stressed that preparations for health infrastructure needs to be ramped up to ensure preparedness for any situation that may arise.
To handle any challenges in these unprecedented times, he said that all available resources need to be utilized.
The meeting also discussed on how schools or any institutional buildings, either private or government, can be identified to set up more quarantine centres and manpower can be mobilized through State Government.
The Minister also emphasized on the need for creating awareness on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of the State Home Department especially at the quarantine centres and the common public.
During the meeting, the Minister was apprised about the total number of returnees, prevailing conditions and number of quarantine centres and the need for revamping infrastructure of health sectors in the respective districts.
The meeting was attended by officials of both the districts - District Nodal Officer T Ranjit Singh, Deputy Commissioners N Bandana Devi, Valentina Arambam, Superintendents of Police, Victoria Yengkhom, Dr S Ibomcha Singh, Chief Medical Officers Dr N Jayantakumar Singh, Dr T.Manihar Singh and officials concerned.
