AKSU strongly opposes passing of CAB, 2016; set to launch various forms of agitation

All Kakching Students' Union strongly opposed the passing of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 on January 8 which is against interest of the indigenous people of North East and said that the union all set to launch violent agitation to protest against the Bill, said a press release issued by AKSU.
AKSU will not remain silent if the said Bill is implemented in the region and added that various steps will be taken up to identify persons from outside the state staying here without valid identity documents and they will be force to return to their native place at the earliest, it added.
AKSU urged the house owners who have rented their rooms to outsider to check verified their identities and warned that strong action will be taken up against those house owners if the Union found any outsiders staying without valid documents.
AKSU also cautioned the State Govt to take a stand against the implementation of such Bill in the State otherwise more violent agitations bigger than the 'The June 18 Uprising' is in the offing.
