Imphal, November 08 2012: The proscribed RPF has condoled the demise of 2nd Lt Hijam Birendro alias Nonginfaba alias Ramsing s/o Hijam Sudon Singh and Hijam (O) Thamballei of Andro Kharam Leikai.

According to a press release issued by the outfit's publicity secretary T Lei-semba, Birendro was picked up by a combined team of Imphal East commandos and 28 Assam Rifles from Andro Maringthel at about 6 pm of November 2 .

He was found dead at Chingai, Ukhrul district on November 5 .

Born on November 15, 1979, Hijam Birendro started working for the party from December 8, 1999 and became a member of the party from December 12, 1999 .

After completing basic military training, Birendro worked in different army units of the outfit, finance department and Bureau-I Div (II) as assistant secretary.

Hijam Birendro was a responsible, dedicated and disciplined freedom fighter besides being a quick learner.

The party has held condolence meetings at all its departments, units and stations in honour of the departed soul.

It also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family, relatives and friends.
